Podcast with Fermented Harvest

Pro-biotics......

We have all heard the word but what are they?  Well they are foods (and some supplements) that are loaded with healthy bacteria for you gut.  I always talk about getting nutrition from foods, here is a great way to start and support a local family business.

Our latest podcast is with a local family who makes and sells 'fermented' goodies.  She talks all about how they got started and the process that it takes.

Have you heard of ISR?

My kids doing the ISR float, last summer.
Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is NOT your average swim lesson, this is survival swimming.

Something that speaks volumes is when your child can accomplish a goal at such a young age and you no longer have to worry.  You know that they will be safe.  If you live around water(we live on the coast of Florida) you know there are pool, beaches, rivers, streams, creeks and all sorts of water.  It is a necessity to learn how to swim…..but not just swim, how to survive if you fall in.  How does a child learn how to survive with no life-jacket if they fall in?  They float and call for help, that's how.  Traditional swim lessons (that we did) don’t teach how to float, they just teach how to swim.   Well swimming gets tiring and they need to rest, enter the ISR float.

Podcast with Farmer Roger

Supporting local is a huge part of what I do, and why I teach.  Helping to support local farmers and business keeps my money local.

In our latest podcast, Melanie and I interviewed Farmer Roger from Green Cedars Farm.  If you have not been to his farm, it is a MUST.  The whole family will enjoy it!

Roger offers many wonderful pastured animals and eggs.  I have tried everything he has offered from eggs, pork, chicken, turkey, lamb and even rabbit, and I am ALWAYS pleased with the high quality!  He is a staple at our local farmers market.   Go say hi and learn a little about REAL FOOD farming!

Enjoy!

Mark Hainds Podcast

We had the pleasure to interview to Mark Hainds and learn all about his fantastic life!

Mark Hainds is with Alabama's HHHH nursery and wood products and sells down at the Palafox Market and online wood products.

I have learned so much from Mark in the years that he has been down at the market.  He has taught me about native plants, edibles, mushrooms and man does he know his stuff!  I need him to come do a nature walk with me down to the woods at the end of my street and tell me what I can eat and pick other than blackberries!

Pod-Cast #4

Every time Melanie and I do a podcast we get a little more confidant and a better understanding of how to conduct interviews.  It is a work in process.  When you don't know people personally, it can be hard to talk to them over the phone and some sound so scripted.  Well, Junior Desouza was a ball of energy and we had so much fun with the interview.  Junior, is a professional soccer player(right up my alley), counselor, author and speaker.  He is also a fitness model!
